![]() You have a limited number of photos that you can take (admittedly, with the ability to purchase more as the game goes on). It’s even little things like how Pupperazzi handles film. This is an awkward little toy, and you could see everyone’s face sink as they played with it. ![]() But we’ve played free-to-play Roblox games that take this concept and nail it better. It should be something that a younger player could jump into easily. Pupperazzi should be casual and pick-up-and-play. There are dozens of buttons to learn, and far too many options buried in menus. You can’t take a photo while holding a toy, so you’re juggling the two. Rub a dog’s head and the camera lifts above the dog, which means you have to track the camera downwards to take a photo of the amorous pup – and by that time, the little scallywag has run after something else. If you want a dog to follow you or show you affection, you have to pet it, but that dog is then in your face, and you can’t take a photo of it. Welcome to the list: you have to dip into menus to change lenses. But taking a good picture is magnitudes more awkward and complicated than it needs to be. Instead, I’d suggest that people wait for it to appear in a bundle or on a discount, which shouldn’t be all that long if the steep price tag ends up slowing sales.Taking a picture isn’t too bad: you zoom with LT and then take a picture with RT. If the game were cheaper, I could recommend it to anyone sold on its premise. ![]() The game itself is decent and I enjoyed taking photos of the dogs for a bit, but there’s just no way this game is worth that much money. This would be fine if Pupperazzi cost $5 USD or so - but it’s $20. Granted, people who are completely sold on the experience can easily double or maybe even triple that, although I’d imagine most would struggle to find enough to last them that long, outside of anyone who wants to complete the photo gallery or just spend hours taking photos after handing dogs items and the like. But you can see almost all of what Pupperazzi has to offer in about an hour. The maps are cute and as you play you’ll unlock times of day or overcast weather versions, some of which have their own associated objectives. But, again, there are only five: the lighthouse, a beach, a town, a national park, and the Moon. As you fulfill objectives and get more followers, you unlock new maps. Each post automatically grants you followers. Increasing your followers is predominantly done by uploading your photos to Dognet. Progression will occasionally require you to increase your follower count as well. Petting them will cause them to follow you, plus you can give them items or dress them up. You can also interact with the dogs themselves. You can also use different types of film, which changes the colors of your photos. Lenses include a basic one, a zoom lens, a fisheye lens, a pixel lens, and others. Bonks are used to purchase new items at vending machines or at the shop on the map. Once you’ve taken the photo, you can turn in the objective, which will reward you with bonks and followers. You’ll be taking photos of dogs, but it’s thankfully a bit more detailed than that.ĭifferent objectives will task you with taking photos of a certain number of dogs, or taking photos with specific camera filters or lenses. One of the game’s greatest strengths is the variety of these objectives. Here, the game’s loop presents itself: a set of three objectives are given to you at a time, and you’re supposed to fulfill their conditions. It’s extremely tiny, which is concerning when you consider that the game only has five maps total. At first, you only have access to a beach near a lighthouse, which basically functions as Pupperazzi‘s tutorial level. When the game begins, you select the first level from the overworld map. Due to the game’s price tag, it becomes tough to recommend the game, even if it does what is promises. The game is pleasing, colorful, and the dogs are cute, but it’s even slighter and features even less content than I would have imagined. While this isn’t a conceit that’s going to grab the interest of just anyone, people who love snapping pictures of pups are likely going to enjoy it here. You play as a walking camera, and your job is to fulfill simple requests by taking photos of dogs. ![]() The premise of Pupperazzi is simple, but engaging.
